With a double header at Cumberland county this past Friday night, both the Girls’ and Boys’ basketball teams played against the Cumberland County Panthers for a their 3rd district games of the season. The Lady Lakers dominated the Panthers with a score of 70-14. The lead scorer was Juliah Bault with 16 points. The Boys Basketball team also defeated the Panthers 76-72. The lead scorer was Scott Hamm with a total of 28 points.
The next day, the Boys’ Basketball team traveled to South Laurel to face off against Whitley County in the “Raymond Reed Classic”. Unfortunately, the Lakers fell to the Colonels 54-43. They currently have a record of 4-10.
The Girls Basketball team traveled to Edmonson County to face the Muhlenburg County Lady Mustangs for the “Byrd is the Word” event. The Lady Lakers defeated the Mustangs 69-64 to improve to 11-4 on the season.
The Laker Bowling team traveled to Phillips Lanes to take on the Campbellsville High School Eagles. The Lakers Boys Bowling team dominated the match with 7 wins and 0 losses. High scores for the match were held by Jason Womack with a 256, and Chris Smith with a score of 207. (The girls bowling team did not compete, as Campbellsville High does not have a girls bowling team.) Their next match will once again be held at Phillips Lane to face off against the Green County Dragons on Tuesday at 5pm.
