This past weekend, the Mighty Laker Swim Team hosted and competed in the Region 3 Swim Meet, with the Girls team finishing in 2nd place and the Boys finishing in 3rd place.  There were several individual personal records, and several individuals qualified for the State Swim Meet.

For the Boys, Chad Grider finished in 2nd place in the 50 Free, qualifying to compete at the state swim meet. Max Lawson placed 1st in the 100 Back and not only qualified for the State Meet–he broke the school record!  Lawson also finished 4th in the 200 IM and broke the school record there as well.

Nathan Garland, Michael Little, Max Lawson, and Chad Grider broke the 200 Free relay school record (which stood for 12 years) and finished in 2nd place, qualifying for the state meet.  These four young men also broke the school record for 400 Free relay, placing 2nd and qualifying for the State Meet.

For the Girls, Emma Rae Phillips finished 1st place in the 200 IM, qualifying for the state meet. Phillips also finished 2nd place in the 500 Free, setting a new school record and qualifying for the State Meet. Emma Rae Phillips, Camryn Woodrum, Lexi Edwards, and Gaby Alvizo placed 1st in the 200 Medley relay, breaking the school record, and qualified for the State Meet. Ashten Phillips, Lexi Edwards, Morgan Jones, and Allie Mann placed 2nd in the 400 Free relay qualifying for State.

We are also proud to say that Emma Rae Phillips and Max Lawson made the Region 3 All-Region Team. Congratulations Laker Swim Team!
