After what is described as a long and tedious application process, RCHS Junior Daisy Pratt has met the requirements and has been accepted into the prestigious Governors Scholar Program (aka GSP) to be held this summer.
“The GSP application was very in-depth to give detailed information about who you are as a person to the GSP staff. I explained my extra-curricular activities, honors, awards, and service (voluntary or paid),” Pratt explained. “I also wrote a 500-word essay describing an experience where I learned something. A teacher and community member recognition were also required.”
Pratt also chose three focus areas that she would be interested in learning about during the five-week program this summer. She will either attend GSP at Centre College, Morehead State University, or Bellarmine University. The location will be determined in next month.
It is a huge honor to be chosen for GSP. RCHS is very proud of Daisy Pratt, and we wish her the best luck at GSP this summer.
