Two RCHS sophomore students recently learned they were accepted into the Gatton Academy at Western Kentucky University. Samuel Leveridge and Keegan Fletcher received their acceptance letters and have been celebrating this exciting news ever since.
Gatton Academy, which admits around 95 students annually, is a two-year residential STEM school for gifted and talented high school juniors and seniors. Students come from all over the Commonwealth to conduct research with professors, study abroad, and attend college classes. Gatton Academy students are selected based on standardized test scores, GPA, responses to essay questions, personal interviews, extracurricular activities and recommendations.
It is an honor to have two of our own students here at RCHS selected to attend in the fall. Last year, Maggie Gossage was selected to attend the Gatton Academy. She has been enjoying her time there as a junior, and she is excited for further upcoming opportunities that Gatton Academy provides. She also wishes these two new students the best as they join her. Congratulations Samuel and Keegan from all of us at RCHS!
