This past week members of the RCHS FFA chapter traveled to the University of Kentucky to compete in the UK FFA Field Day. We had several students compete in individual and team competitions with some outstanding results.
Brannon Lawson placed first individually in the Citizenship Bowl. The Farm Business Management team which consisted of: Abby Grant, Jordan Helm, Kolten Grider, and Cali Hale placed first as a team, and Kolten Grider placed third individually overall.
The FFA/4-H Quiz Bowl (Freshman Only) team which consisted of: Morgan Taylor, Kristyn Glenn, and Jaren Fischer made it to round two. In the Job Interview competition, Kara Ryder placed 5th overall in the Jr. Division. Skyla Lawless finished 8th in Individual Dairy Judging.
In the LifeSmarts Competition, Abigail Roy, Ashley Miller, Tessa Foster, and Mandy Nelson placed 5th overall as a team. Cass Foley. MJ Carnes, Garrett Williams, and Clay Ferguson placed 39 out of 67 in the Livestock Evaluation. In the STEM Challenge, Tyler Lulek and Jaylon Burton placed 4th overall. In the Jr. Division of Tractor Driving, Owen Wilson placed 3rd overall. Michaela Waskosky placed 21 out 120 students in Vet Science. The Horse Team also finished 14th out of 39 Teams.
