Jon Franklin Named to Governor’s School for the Arts

This week RCHS Drama junior Jon Franklin was accepted into the Governor’s School for the Arts program. Jon completed a rigorous application with the help of Drama teacher Mr. Tyler Flatt.

Franklin was required to send in a personal video and letter, along with a video of one of his recent drama pieces. After being accepted through the first round, he traveled to Centre College to go through the second round of auditions. On the original list, Jon was not chosen as a finalist, but as an alternate. However, 5 out of 1400 alternates were chosen to be apart of the program and Jon was one of those 5.

He will travel to the University of Kentucky on June 23rd and stay for three weeks to complete the course of the program. Congratulations on this huge achievement Jon!!
