MESSAGE FROM RCHS PRINCIPAL MR. DARREN GOSSAGE:
After the announcement made by the Governor Monday, we know that we will not return to school this year in person. It saddens me and my staff for the lost time with students; especially those seniors that have lost the last semester of high school. On Tuesday I met with our senior class officers to discuss graduation options. This group of students had several good ideas about alternative graduation options. These options will have to be approved by the Commissioner before we can move forward, but we will keep you informed once anything is set in stone. We will try to keep everyone up to date via social media, radio, and/or one call.
JUNIOR SCHEDULING REMINDER: We would also like to remind any current junior who has not scheduled for classes for next year, to please do so as soon as possible. The scheduling form will be submitted online via a Google Form and can be accessed here.
LOCKER CLEANOUTS: With the closing of school, some students will need to pick up belongings from their lockers and return library books. Next Tuesday, April 28th, from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m., students will be able to pull up to the front of Russell County High School where they will be greeted by a staff member. Students should provide their name and locker number, so items can be retrieved for the student. Students and parents should remain in their vehicles during this time.
Please stay safe and heathy and we hope we can see our students soon. –Darren Gossage, Principal – Russell County High School
